By the time the band has finished their set you have had a great night with some great music. The songs are so diverse that there is not a monotamous moment.
With an album coming out in 2013, MP Project is set to make a definitive mark in the NY Rock Scene.
Here is a video of the band performing the song "I Got Your Number":

Every few years Metal needs a shakeup at its core. Bands become similar, genre's become stale, and fans become bored.
I think this band is going to shake things up for the better of Metal. Shitkill are putting a modern spin on Thrash that I think is sorely needed. Their age (the band members are all around 18 years old) can only help and mean there is even better music to come.
Listen for yourself:
Keep up with Sh*tkill:

I am not quite sure how to categorize the band. Hardcore? Thrash? Doom? I think they could very easily fall into any of the numerous genre's of rock and metal that have evolved. But the one thing I know, this band is good.
Family just released their first album, "Portrait". It's a concept album about a family that obtains super powers and the ramifications that occur because of those powers. The last song on the album is named "Exploding Baby". Quite frankly with a title like that, how can you not listen?
Check out the below video. Family performing "Othermother" and the aforementioned "Exploding Baby": Go buy the Album and stay up to date on Family-

Rock music is based in rebellion. Rising up and speaking for those who cannot speak. Now Metal music is rebellion always stirred with controversy.
Lies Beneath makes sure to keep that mixture at a level that will blow out your ear drums.
Check out the promo video for their debut album, "Death of The American Dream":

How to you explain a band that is unexplainable? How to you define a band that is undefinable?
Fall of the Albatross cannot be fully explained. A mix of metalcore, metal, hard rock, jazz, rhythm and blues, and well quite frankly probably twenty more genre's of music all mixed together.
Just listening to their E.P. "Entanglement" is not enough. To truly experience Fall of the Albatross you must attend one of their shows.
Here is a video of the band performing their song "Enjoy Yo'self" recorded at the Highline Ballroom:

Looking for rock with a blend of "heavy" pop (which I will now consider as a genre, Heavy Pop rock)? Of course you are and From Out of Nowhere have the formula down to a science. I recently saw these guys light up The Delancy and they kept the crowd moving.

You want some gritty, dirty, sleazy rock and roll? Then you need to check out The Dirty Pearls. The best way I can explainthe sound of The Dirty Pearls is a mix of 70's Punk and Glam Rock mixed together.

Face The King is bringing Alt-Rock to the masses of NYC. In a short time (formed in 2009) Face The King has gained a loyal following based on their consistent growth and genuine emotion they put into each song they write and perform.

Another band you may have missed, A Family Plot. Alt-Rock done right. I had the pleasure of seeing this band perform on a few occasions and they were excellent. Great hooks and lyrics in every song they played.
Here is a video of the band performing their song "Doing Fine":
A Family Plot played their last show together in Late 2010. But you can still pick up their debut EP on iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/a-family-plot/id331835296
And you can also "Like" them on Facebook, because you never know. Bands get back together all the time.

Combine Stoner, Doom, and Hardcore Rock and you produce Kings Destroy. Their Bio best describes their sound: With influences like The Melvins, Yob and Cro Mags, KD describes their sound as “brutal Sabbath heaviness with hardcore outbursts and disturbed vocals verging on the demented.”
